Real Estate Law
Bill’s real estate law expertise comes from representing commercial lenders who make construction loans or loans secured by real property. He represents clients who are either purchasing a business or selling a business where real estate is usually involved. Real estate law is usually a large component of these types of transactions.

Finance Law
Bill’s expertise in finance law includes:
Commercial Loans – Bill Marshall represented First Commercial Bank, N.A, one of the largest banks in the State of Arkansas at that time, which later merged into Regions Bank, for over 20 years with most of its loans of all types in excess of one million dollars. Bill has served as local counsel for very large loans by out-of-state lenders and has worked with some of the largest law firms in the United States as local Arkansas counsel on large loan transactions, often drafting opinions to the commercial lender.
Bond Financings – Bill Marshall represents many tax-exempt hospitals as borrower’s counsel on tax-exempt bond financing. He has also represented for-profit borrowers on taxable bond financings.
Securities Financing – Bill prepares Offering Memorandums for securities financings which are exempt by the Securities and Exchange Commission. He has also worked for over 41 years with the Arkansas Securities Department and is familiar with Arkansas Securities Statues, Rules and Regulations. Bill has served as local counsel for securities financings with the Securities and Exchange Commission, often providing opinions for national law firms.
Venture Capital Financings – Bill Marshall assists companies in locating venture capital financing, negotiating and drafting the associated agreements.

Tax Law
As a CPA (Inactive) and having been placed in the tax department of one of the largest law firms in the State of Arkansas, wherein he became a partner, Bill was responsible with advising not only clients of the Tax Group, but also other attorneys within the firm on tax issues related to their Group’s client tax issues. During this time, Bill Marshall passed the written exam and the five-year experience requirement in the field of tax law to meet the Standards of Recognition in the field of Tax Law. (The Arkansas Supreme Court discontinued its support of the standard of recognition in all fields of law.) However, Bill has continued to remain knowledgeable in tax matters. Bill is licensed to practice before the United States Tax Court and the Internal Revenue Service. Bill Marshall has experience in most areas of US Federal taxation and Arkansas taxation, including tax planning for transactions as well as tax controversies.
